Story

My knees won't take another marathon, so cycling is the future.....

To give you some idea of the challenge, before March my bicycle last saw action the day it was purchased in 2005.  So, what better way to break it in than the Coast to Coast Challenge - a three day pedal through nearly 150 miles of off-road ups and downs in some Northern part of England (Sunderland to Whitehaven/Whitby Bay) at the end of May?

If you can't donate, then at least send healthy food and provision - or I'll be forced to eat pies and have gravy with my chips to sustain myself.

Training has begun in earnest for me and my 4 other companions from Waitrose Head Office - Steve Whyment, Jason Toogood, Jeremy Gadd and Ian Burdekin, including some serious trail biking in Wales and local Bristol estates

Now the serious bit.......

Dorothy House is a small local Bath-based charity that supports people with life threatening illnesses and their families, both at home and with hospice care.  Their care and support made a significant difference to my family during and after my sister, Emma's, short fight with melanoma (skin cancer) in 2003.  I'd like to raise some money for them as a small token of thanks, all be that it seems many years too late.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
