Story
If you are reading this, then at the very least, I have to try to keep your attention so you carry on reading until the end. So I am attempting to complete my second marathon when I run the London marathon on 22nd April this year. The first one, Loch Ness marathon 6 years ago, did not go to plan. I hit the wall at 20 miles (it literally propped me up for a minute or two) and I then had to walk and shuffle the last 6 miles. I would like to think that, this time round, I am better prepared having spent many hours running around the Suffolk countryside over winter in some not very nice conditions. Getting up at 6 AM on a Sunday morning to do a 20 mile training run in freezing temperatures tested my motivation!
But this is not about me. This is about those people who are less fortunate than probably most of you reading this. People who are living with mental health issues, who experience difficulties or who are on the autistic spectrum; how many things equivalent to marathons do they have to complete in their lifetime? Red2Green is a local charity based in Swaffham Bulbeck who do a fantastic job by supporting them and giving them a helping hand. Please see:

I’ll be honest and say I was not keen on the idea of trying to raise money because selfishly I wanted to go quietly on my way to achieving one of my running goals. But, the reality is, I am very fortunate and it’s the very least I could do for a few people less lucky than I. I hope you will join me in supporting red2green to make a difference.
Thank you all in advance.
