Jon's 3580 does rafting

3580 does rafting · 4 August 2015
Hi all, thank you for paying a visit to our Just Giving page. We represent Project 3580, a charity which is doing great work in Kissy Town, a small refugee camp on the outskirts of Waterloo, Sierra Leone. In recent years, areas of the camp have been transformed, most notably the school, which has been completely refurbished along with a brand new playground being installed - allegedly the only one in the western region of the country. The church, clinic and police station in Waterloo has also been vastly improved. This is not to mention the fantastic work done at the PSS school in the main city of Waterloo some years ago.
Now you know a bit about us and what we have done, let us tell you why we have set up this page. As was previously mentioned, we have now completely finished the refurbishing job on the school in the refugee camp, however there are still so many things that can be done to improve it.
In order to help us reach this target, we shall be completing arafting challenge along the River Wye from the 4th-5th August. Thus Challenge is our way of raising funds for a great cause, and hopefully go some way to meeting our overall target. Throughout the 2 days and in the weeks leading up to it, we will be remembering a truly inspiring man who is sadly no longer with us. Dr Laurie Read was the man who for many years worked in the area as a doctor and helped many local people through very difficult illnesses. He also introduced us to Waterloo and Kissy Town and is one of the main reasons as to why the great work is carrying on today, and to that we owe him a huge debt of gratitude.
Please dig deep and give what you can to this great cause, help give these children the education they deserve!
