"I am doing a ride from London to Paris with my father as a way of raising money for the Paul D'Auria Cancer Support Centre.

At Christmas 2008 I was devastated to hear that my mum had been diagnosed with breast cancer. 

She has since undergone major surgery, completed a five-month course of chemotherapy and further radiotherapy.

By the end of her treatment, the cancer took more than a year from our lives.

Thanks to the invaluable research into breast cancer so far, the chances of my Mum making a full recovery have been far greater than those of my Grandmother who sadly died at 63 from the same disease. Therefore, I feel very grateful that my mum is still standing so brightly and blissfully. 

I am lucky and so is my mum that all has gone well, which is why I want to raise money for charity, as there are many other women who do not do so well and their families do suffer.

Hopefully the money I raise with my father will help go towards keeping the Paul D'auria Cancer Support Centre going, and ultimately, make many more families happy and proud of their mum like I am."
