Dear Friends, 

Well, we made it, and it has taken me this long to recover, but I can now say the 3 Peaks Yacht Race was a truly epic adventure!  The organisers say on their website that this is one of the oldest and original extreme challenges and they are right!  After 5 ½ days of gales, flat calm, tides pushing us backwards, agonising running up mountains, but good food, we finished the race at Fort William and, although we were last (apart from some wimps who retired), we felt we had done ourselves proud.  I thought you might like to read about our adventure in a race report, which I will send you if you email me!

 On behalf of The Brioche Boys, I would like to thank everyone who so kindly sponsored us via a donation to the James Whale Fund for Kidney Cancer.  Although we will not be winning any prizes for the race itself (apart from the Last Inn Trophy), there is a chance that we could win the prize for the most money collected for charity.  Our target was to raise £3000 and currently we are at £1200, so if you would like to support us to try and win this prize, we would be very grateful.  The charity is for a very worthy cause and I know that the James Whale Fund would be very appreciative of anything you would like to donate.

The Brioche Boys, with a combined age of around 250 years, plan to take the West Coast of Wales and Scotland by storm by taking part in the 3 Peaks Yacht Race, starting on 16th June 2012.

What we didn't realise, when we were coerced into taking part, was that where you park the boat for each mountain is nowhere near the mountain, so a lot of running is required!  However, we are the Corinthian crew and we will each be doing some running and sailing.

We are raising funds for the James Whale Kidney Cancer Charity and would be very grateful if you would help us raise funds for this worthy charity.
