Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have been playing cricket with Cricket for Change for three seasons now and last year captained the Surrey MLD side – winning several tournaments. My main coach Danny Baker; he’s a bit crazy but has been a great help in developing my cricket skills. Through C 4 C, last year I was fortunate enough to join with the (South) MLD development squad in training sessions and a number of friendlies in the build up to the main squad playing against and in December. This year I have been invited to join the combined Cricket for Change MLD team (with the VI Squad) on their tour to in July – which will include a match against a Courtney Walsh Eleven. It will be the first time I have travelled anywhere without my parents and, I hope, will improve my self-help skills and develop my confidence in meeting people from a different background and culture. It will also be an opportunity to try some cooking! The whole squad are working together in raising funds for the trip but, in addition, we have all been given individual targets to raise extra monies. I have helped organise a sponsored mufti day at school, am baking cakes for sale at school and will be washing teachers’ cars, as well as joining in several sporting activities between now and July. Anything you can offer by way of a donation – no matter how small – will be greatly appreciated and will help go toward the cost of our trip to spread the goodwill cricket can create and, hopefully, show the West Indies what England are made of.
