Story
Hello,
Sorry if this is the first time you have heard from me in a while
The picture is not me but Jalal Moriol (one of the many children who Compassion helps)
I will be competing in The Woodlands Marathon on behalf of Compassion International, a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty.
I am aiming to run the race in under 3 hours but I do not really know whether my legs will stand up to this. The race begins at 6:47 (remarkably specific) (also the pace in minutes per mile I intend to run at) on Saturday 3rd March
I chose compassion because my 6th grade class and I already sponsor a child (Jalal Moriol) who lives in Bangladesh through this charity. We often spend home rooms writing to him or praying for him.
Below is Compassion's message as to what the money will be spent on:
Help Impoverished Children Around the World!
Your generous donation will be directed to Compassion's Medical Assistance Fund, which helps cover urgent health-related care for more than 1.2 million children registered in Compassion's child sponsorship program.
Whether financing a scheduled surgery or an emergency medical procedure, your contribution to the Medical Assistance Fund helps ensure that children in Compassion?s care receive the treatment they need to return to normal health. And where there is health, there is hope!
Thank you for even spending time to read this, have a wonderful day.
