Jonathan:  I have worked in the field of skin cancer for many years.  Remarkable advances have taken place in melanoma treatment in just the last few years, and this has come about because of equally remarkable advances in our understanding of the genetics of melanoma and our ability to design new agents to treat it.  None of this would have been possible without the research work carried out across the globe, and meticulous data-gathering.  Melanoma Focus is a great charity to support!

The challenge is Whitehaven to Sunderland in 2 days; we hope to make the return journey too, around 300 miles in 4 days on our bikes.  That last bit was John's helpful contribution.
