Story

Last August, my brother (Jonny/JP/Jonathan) was admitted to John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, for heart surgery that whilst it was not entirely unexpected, was definitely unplanned. You may or may not know that JP was born with a faulty valve in his heart and had been living with it for for 21 years.  The cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery teams at the hospital performed open heart surgery to replace his damaged valve with a new one on 8th August 2011. It was a long and potentially complicated operation and as you can image we were so pleased it was a complete success.  This has given Jonny a renewed lease on life and giving a sense of relief to him and the family.

Through the hard work and dedication of the researchers, doctors and nurses at the Oxford Heart Centre, he made a complete recovery and this November, will be running the Marlow Half Marathon with myself and our uncle, Ian Jones; a feat that 18 months ago would have seemed impossible. We are running to raise moneyfor the Oxford Heart Centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, hoping to raise money for them so they can continue to change people’s lives like they changed my brothers. We would appreciate any donation you are able to make and any support on the day too will help us all get round the challenging course.  It's on Sunday 4th November starting and ending at Sir William Borlase School and we love to see you en-route.

Thanks
Simon Potton, Ian Jones and Jonathan Potton
