The Great St. Andrews to Edinburgh Double Marathon
on 1 March 2011
on 1 March 2011
We made it. Roughly 10hours of running time, with a two lengthy breaks; we arrived in Edinburgh at 1am. It felt good to push the limits of what our bodies were capable of, we could go further - but the muscle pain was fairly acute. The next morning walking was Very tricky - Jake was on crutches. Surprisingly, it didn't take too long to recover though. More details will be up shortly.
Please keep donating!
Hi everyone,
Myself and three other chums (Henry Evans, Jake Cowpland and Keiran Smith) are running from St. Andrews to Edinburgh (51 miles ~ 82km) in order to raise money for some very worthy causes.
I will be running in aid of the International Justice Mission:
International Justice Mission (IJM) is a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local governments to ensure victim rescue, to prosecute perpetrators and to strengthen the community and civic factors that promote functioning public justice systems.
The money you donate will directly fund the liberation and protection of oppressed peoples. Please dig deep and donate now.
The run itself will begin on Saturday (12th March) and hopefully end early the following morning. (Note; we've agreed, that if you go to CCE - then we would like to split the money raised by yourselves amongst all of our charities, but if you feel particularly strongly about IJM - feel free).
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
