500km, £5000, and priceless chopper jokes... · 15 April 2016

London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers advanced pre-hospital care to critically injured people in London. Your donation will help us save more lives by keeping our helicopter in the air and our rapid response cars on the road, ready for when they are needed most.

Story

I am stupid when it comes to these things, you all know that. So, I wanted to give myself the ultimate challenge, the legendary  Marathon Des Sables - 257km in the Sahara desert (the longest ever course) over 6 days, carrying all your equipment and food. It takes place April 8-18.

All your money goes to the charity for Marathon Des Sables, I am paying all the race fees/travel etc myself.

We've hit the initial target of £10k, let's smash it and go for £15k.

Fitness levels? Started at 18.5 stone and no training for 5 years. Down to 17 stone and not much training.

Why?

Because I want to raise a shed load of money for London's Air Ambulance to do more of what they do brilliantly.  And, frankly,  either in London or the desert, the helicopter guys save lives. Lots of them.

Dig deep, or come with me. That's your choice...
