Lessons for Life and Street Child believe every child deserves the chance to go to school and learn. Our projects focus on a combination of education, child protection and livelihood support to address the social, economic and structural issues that underpin today’s education crisis.

Story

Over 15 years ago, I completed (only just, from memory) the millennium edition of the Great North Run (half the distance I'm now attempting) and it was TOUGH!

So in a bid to step up the pain and begin to train I'm going to run that "bit" harder, for that "bit" further (only 26.2 miles, all in all) for the big day on the 24th April 2016.

This time my motivation is not from the fountain of youth but because I'm supporting a really fantastic cause to help support thousands of children to go to school in several countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Children like nine year old Ramberi (pictured in my photo's section), he lives with his family in a two room hut in Uganda made of mud and straw.  He wants to be a doctor and dreams of living in a house with his own sheets and a motorbike.  He's a smart kid and knows he must go to school to have a chance of any of it.

So dig deep and help me raise some cash to send kids like Ramberi to school.

Also, the more donations I receive towards my target, the faster I will try to run (within reason)!

£250 + aiming for 8.5 minute miles

£500 + aiming for 8 minute miles

£750 + aiming for 7.5 minute miles

Any donation, BIG or small, will be a greatly received contribution and I truly appreciate your support.

LFLF's very own Head of Finance Andy Nash has also very generously pledged to top up my fundraising by giving £5 for every £250 raised!

Thank you

Jonny
