Story

Mind provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

Mental Health affects everyone differently - the key is to talk about it.

At a time in my life when I needed to talk about my issues, behaviours and dark thoughts, someone recommended I get in touch with Mind, so I did.

Mind helped me get the right mental health support, helped me to understand that it is okay to admit that things aren't where they should be. Mind helped me to go through therapy, anti-depressants and to cope with huge life changes that came my way. For a short while, I experienced the darkest moments of my life, but talking about it was the starting point to getting back on track.

So I want to help raise funds for my local Mind down in Cornwall to enable more people to access their services, to raise awareness around their amazing work, and to motivate me to actually train properly for Manchester!

I ran the Truro Half Marathon in September 2019, the Eden Project Half in October 2019 - but Manchester will be my first full marathon, here it goes!

Finally, why £420? Well a marathon is 42.195 kms, so I'm looking for £1 per km to keep me going, especially in the final 10k!
