Phoenix Riverside Marathon & Half 2019 · 17 November 2019
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
For the majority of my younger years, I've been an avid basketball player, playing in a number of teams and competitions. When I turned 25, I set myself 25 goals to complete this year, one of them being to run a marathon. It's safe to say this will be one of the most challenging tasks I've ever completed and I would love you to be part of the journey!
The Cause:
Living in the heart of Stratford, I typically run in various parts of East London and come across a number of homeless people. I am fortunate to have the nutrition, peace of mind and time to prepare for such a task. However there are many homeless people in this local community who I see on my runs who do not. Nearly 1 in 4 will be affected by mental health at some point in their life and homelessness can exacerbate the magnitude and likelihood of this.
In light of this, I have decided to both complete one of my 25 goals and raise money for Mind in Tower Hamlets and Newham. They are a community mental health charity that helps make sure anyone with a mental health of emotional issue has somewhere to turn for advice and support.
The Reality:
Since it was announced that London would host the 2012 Olympics:
Your kind contribution will be much appreciated and thank you in advance for any donation you can make.
