Story
We’re José and Sabine, two friends who love cycling. We recently cycled around the Isle of Wight and are soon to embark on our greatest challenge yet.
On 4th August 2019 we’re cycling 100 miles / 160km, with hills, which will be the furthest either of us has ever cycled in one day – by far.
To put it into perspective that’s almost the equivalent distance of Portsmouth to Wales, or 5 times around Paris. Those of you whose bottoms feel sore at the very thought, trust us, so too do ours!
We’ve chosen to ride on behalf of ‘Marie Curie’, which is a charity that provides palliative (specialist medical) care and support for people -and their families- who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness.
If you’d like to sponsor us we’d be so appreciative of all donations, large and small – they all add up! You can do so online via this page, which is both fast and secure and funds will be sent directly to ‘Marie Curie’. Alternatively you can use our paper sponsorship form when you see us. As a bonus for UK tax payers, on top of your donation ‘Marie Curie’ will receive an additional 25% (Gift Aid) of the value you give.
You can read more about why we’re doing this in the photos attached, or on our personal Facebook pages. Thank you in advance for reading our stories and for showing your support. We’ll keep this page updated with our results.
