An Evening of Magic & Comedy · 21 September 2014

The PKD charity provides information and support to patients and families affected by polycystic kidney disease, funds research into discovering possible treatments and raises awareness of PKD, providing information to patients, the public, the medical community and the media.

Story

On the evening of Sunday 21 September 2014 we will be hosting an Evening of Magic & Comedy at The Radlett Centre, Radlett, in aid of The Polycystic Kidney Disease Charity ("The PKD Charity").  Please see the attached flyer for details.

We have a very close personal connection with The PKD Charity. Polycystic kidney disease (known as "PKD") is the mostly common genetically acquired disease affecting 12.5 million people worldwide. There is currently no cure for the disease but research to find a treatment to slow down the progression of the disease is well underway. Funds are urgently required for this research and we would like to continue to play a part in raising them. PKD is characterized by the presence of multiple cysts on the kidneys. The cysts are numerous and are fluid-filled, resulting in enlargement of the kidneys, raised blood pressure and, eventually, kidney failure. The disease can also damage the liver, pancreas and, in some rare cases, the heart and brain. Approximately 50% of patients with PKD have end-stage renal disease by no later than the age of 60 but often the disease strikes at a much younger age.

Our Evening of Magic & Comedy promises to be fantastic entertainment, with a theatre-style magic and comedy show by top magician Nick Einhorn and top comedian Ian Irving.

Tickets for the show are priced at £25 each. Doors will open at 7.30pm and the show commences at 8pm. There will also be a raffle on the night with some terrific prizes. All funds raised on the night will go to The PKD Charity.  We very much hope that you will be able to support our event by purchasing tickets for the show. Tickets can be purchased by emailing joseph.arazi@sky.com indicating how many tickets you would like or by telephoning either of us (Melanie - 07950 266764 / Joseph – 07957 571531).

If, however, you are unable to attend the show and would like to make a donation to our fundraising efforts in aid of The PKD Charity, please do so on this website. We thank you in advance for your support and look forward to seeing those of you who can make it for what will be a magical and humorous night!

Best wishes.

Melanie and Joe Arazi
