Leicester Half Marathon · 15 October 2017
Hi everyone,
In February 2017 Joe was diagnosed with severe depression, having suffered for a year previously, alone. This delay was due in part to the stigma surrounding mental illness, specifically towards men with mental health issues.
Suicide is the highest killer of men aged between 20-49, and of the 6233 suicides in Britain in 2013, 78% were male. Furthermore, males commit suicide more than women at every measured age group.
These are some of the many reasons why we are running the Leicester Half Marathon in October, and to help raise awareness of men's mental health and try and fight the stigma surrounding it, one step at a time.
We're aiming to raise as much as possible for this excellent charity, and we hope you can help us in any way that you can!
Thanks for reading,
Adam and Joe x
