Well, after a little arm twisting I decided to give the Great North Run another go, firstly to support my eldest daughter Bridget (it's her first time!) and also to support the fantastic work of St. Oswald's Hospice which provides much needed end of life care to those with a terminal illness and support to their familes.

St. Oswald's is at the end of my street and serves as a daily reminder of all those affected in one way or another. Life is precious. Hopefully by completing the Great North Run with my daughter she will be inspired to make the most of her life and through the money I raise, others at the end of theirs will be able to move from this life to the next in comfort and with dignity.
