In May I was 60 Years Young and decided, as part of my bucket list I wanted to have a once in a lifetime experience that will challenge every part of my being and in doing so helping a cause that we can all relate to in one way or another as we get older.

From 6th-10th October, over 3 days I will be trekking 18 miles per day across the southern region of Hyerageroi, with 3 nights sleeping in traditional mountain huts.

Iceland hosts some of Europe's greatest wilderness areas, which are home to active volcanoes, sheer granite mountains, glaciers, thundering waterfalls, boiling mud pools and spouting geysers.

This is my chance to see it all first hand, challenging myself to the extreme and at the same time supporting such a very worthy charity.

In the next 15 Minutes, someone in the UK will be told: "You are losing your sight"  The RNIB give the practical and emotional support to help people who are blind and partially sighted face the future with confidence and live independently. By supporting this worthy cause we're making every day better for those people affected.
