Huntington's Disease Association England and Wales exists to support anyone who is affected by Huntington's disease. It pursues the best possible care; provides training and advice to families and professionals; raises awareness, and promotes research towards better treatment and care.

Story

At the age of 10 I lost my Mum to Huntington’s Disease and unfortunately I was also diagnosed with the genetically inherited incurable illness at the age of 18. HD is an unheard of illness and had no cure, and HD is caused by a faulty gene that results in parts of the brain becoming gradually damaged over time. This leaves the person with HD unable to do the most simplest of tasks for themselves such as walking, talking, chewing and swallowing. Eventually this illness will take the life of the person diagnosed but there is no saying when symptoms will kick in.

I have vowed that since my diagnosis I will do everything I physically can to promote awareness and raise funds for Huntington’s Disease Association to help fund a cure, hopefully in my life time!

This is my first ever marathon so any donations or sharing of my post would be amazing and massively appreciated!

Thank you!

Josh 💚
