We change lives and give a brighter future to those affected by Rett syndrome. Now.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page.

I have decided to enter myself into Ride Essex 2022 (taking place 4th September in Chelmsford) and cycle a long 64 miles for charity. After not having done any exercise in around 8 years I began cycling in June this year - anything to get out of wedding planning!

It’s advised that beginners sign up to the 36 mile ride but I decided to push myself a bit further so I’m going to need all the support I can get to ride the 64 miles!

I am raising money for RETT UK. This charity means a lot to us after Charlotte’s little cousin Lily was unfortunately diagnosed with RETT Syndrome in March this year just after her 2nd Birthday.

RETT Syndrome is a very rare genetic disorder that affects brain development sadly with no known cure. It has a profound impact on nearly every aspect of the child’s life: their ability to speak, walk, eat and even breathe easily.

As you can imagine a diagnosis like this has turned Lily’s family’s life upside down overnight and has very much affected everyone else who loves and cares for her.

I would like to raise money for RETT UK as they provide much needed support for families at the point of diagnosis and every step along the way.

It would mean the world to us if you were able to donate to this amazing charity, thank you ❤️

P.s I’ll be posting details soon for anyone who might also want to cheer me on /or meet in a pub in Chelmsford after the event for a few drinks so if you’re interested please keep Sunday 4th September free 👍🏻

Imagine being told your toddler you thought was healthy, but perhaps slow to progress, in fact had a rare and devastating disability that would leave them needing lifelong 24/7 care. Rett syndrome changes lives irrevocably. With your support Rett UK is there from the beginning. #ToKnowHerIsToLoveHer
