Run to #ChangeMentalHealth

Los Angeles Marathon · 17 November 2018
This year I am running the LA Marathon to help change the culture of mental health so those in need will receive the support they need and deserve. As a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a School Social Worker, I have experienced first hand what a lack of mental health care can do to an individual.
After leaving the Marine Corps I had a difficult time adjusting to civilian life. It was not until I started receiving support at the VA that I realized the importance of mental health care. As a school social worker I provide mental health support and education to students and their families.
I am also running to encourage everyone to take care of their mental health just as they do their physical health. You can start by learning the Five Signs of Emotional Suffering and the Healthy Habits of Emotional Well-being at changedirection.org.
Thank you for your Support! I couldn't do it without you!
