The Charity was established in 1992 to support children and their families from Belarus and Ukraine who will be forever affected by the World's worst nuclear disaster

Belarus received over 70% of the radioactive fallout from Chernobyl nuclear explosion in 1986 and as a result thousands are born every year with or develop cancer.

One of the aims of the charity is that every year groups throughout the country will raise money to bring children over to the UK for a period of respite and recuperation from the constant drip of radiation. Sheffield does just this and children come over and stay with volunteer host families. They are here for 4 weeks of fresh air, uncontaminated food, fun, love and attention as well as dental and eye checks

All of this is reliant on the incredible generosity of people to raise money to bring them over and spend time and embrace them into our lives for the time they are here. It has an incredible impact on all involved and the families of the children who live in the constant of this disaster are forever grateful for the kindness and love that is shown to their children
