Second Hope has become part of Breast Cancer Now, the research and care charity. Every donation to Second Hope through Breast Cancer Now will be spent on funding world-class research into secondary breast cancer.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have had to be quite creative with my fundraising this year.  Sadly, my usual Christmas Crafternoon at church is not possible due to current restrictions.  I will really miss the joy and buzz of getting together.

Instead I am asking you to sponsor me and my friends to craft away for 24 hours non-stop, from 3pm on Friday 27th November until 3pm on Saturday 28th November.  I will take on the bulk of the day, and the others will give me welcome breaks and the chance to snatch a quick nap.  We will be tackling a variety of crafts, including painting, sewing, needle felting, floristry & card making.  Many of these crafts will have a Christmas theme.  We promise to post photographs & possibly videos of what we make, and we may even have some items for sale at the end of it all.

As usual, all donations will go to a charity that funds research into secondary breast cancer.  I have supported Second Hope since its inception.  It is now part of the Breast Cancer Now charity, for which I've raised thousands of pounds over the years.

All charities are suffering this year from a drop in funds, as people have not been able to fundraise in the usual way.  Breast Cancer now and Second Hope have been deeply affected.  Breast Cancer Now states:
'The coronavirus has had a devastating impact on secondary breast cancer research. We’ve lost more than 100 days in our labs. 100 days of world-class research. 100 days of innovations. 100 days of hope.'

You can help rectify this situation by donating what you can, and gift-aiding your donation if you are able.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
