Joy's Sober for October

Joy Moody is raising money for Motor Neurone Disease Association
In memory of Darryl Moody

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page raising money for the
MND Association.

I will be letting my (many) wine glasses collect dust for a
month (31 days and counting!) by taking part in Sober for October. Starting from this Saturday 1st October i will be quitting ALL alcohol for a month... for any one who knows me... knows this is going to be a struggle lol.

I have chosen MND in memory of my Dad who died of the disease in 1997 at the age of 36 after a 9 month battle. Since his death, my Mum ran the London Marathon in 1998 raising £6000 and my brother Sam and his friends ran Tough Mudder in 2013 raising over £2000.

Motor Neurone Disease (also known as ALS in America) is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones (nerves) in the brain and spinal cord, gradually stopping messages reaching muscles which leads to paralysis and muscle wasting. There is no cure, and it is a severely life-shortening condition. Most of you may only have seen this disease through Stephen Hawking.

The MND Association is the only national charity in England,
Wales and Northern Ireland dedicated to improve care and support for people affected by MND.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. With JustGiving
your details are safe - they'll never sell them or send unwanted emails. Onceyou donate, they'll send your money directly to the MND Association. Thank you again and wish me luck!
