The Lullaby Trust exists to keep babies safe and to keep grieving families supported. We fund life-saving research, empower families with expert baby safety advice and support grieving families through their darkest days. We won’t give up until no baby dies suddenly or unexpectedly.

Story

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read through what it is I am getting myself into this summer!

On the 4th July Louisa and I will be starting the Tour du Mont Blanc. It will take about 10-11 days and will see us trekking 110 miles around the Mont Blanc across three countries while ascending and descending the equivalent height of Everest! It sounds like fun, right?!

The 4th July coincides with what should have been my sister's 30th birthday. Carole was born on the 4th July 1988. She passed away on the 14th September with absolutely no warning due to what is known as cot death. To commemorate her birthday I have decided to ask for sponsorship and donations (again) from all you lovely people. The money will go to the lullaby trust who provide support to those who have experienced a similar loss and who invest in research to try and identify why cot death occurs. Cot death rates have reduced by an incredible 80% since Carole died, but they do still happen. Approximately 230 babies die suddenly every year, that's over 4 babies a week.

It would really mean a lot if you could donate whatever you can afford. It genuinely will make a difference to the charity, but also to me. I undertook a similar trek two years ago and it was a lot harder than I expected. It was only the generosity of everyone sponsoring and the support of my family that got me through it! Sooo I am calling on you all again to please please donate what you can and I will keep putting one foot in front of another.

Thank you x x x
