In June 2012 Jukes #01 joined Plymouth City Roller Girls as a transfer from another league - we knew she was good but didn't realise the impact she would have on our team. Jukes was full of life, never ending energy and enthusiasm for everything. She was one special lady that transformed our team, our league and our outlook on everything; she completed our puzzle and was the glue bonding us together. 

Tragically Jukes was diagnosed with terminal cancer in September 2013 and died shortly after in June 2014. During this time she spoke of how supportive Macmillan had been to her and that she would like PCRG to name Macmillan as our charity for the year. We thought we would do one better and channel Jukes' passion and drive to put on an event to remember.

We are hosting two roller derby games - the first will be a mixed game for anyone that knew Jukes and would like to skate in her memory. The second game with be a rematch between Plymouth City Roller Girls and Cornwall Roller Derby - the first time these teams met was the first time either team played a public game and Jukes was skating for Cornwall. PCRG fell in love with her then and we would like to see if this time we could take the win from Cornwall.
