I'm gonna be jumping from a plane at 10,000ft in support of Endometriosis on the 25th September!

It is something I've wanted to do since I was 16 and now I'm able to do it for a good reason, not just for myself.  So please sponsor me to jump (or Ste to push me!).

I would be grateful if you could contribute as much as you can to this charity which is very close to my heart as I have the condition.

Endometriosis is a chronic disease that affects some 2 million women in the . Many of them suffer extreme exhausting pain, infertility, depression and incapacity for work or social interactions. There is no known cause or cure and it is imperative that awareness and understanding of endometriosis is increased. The current stigma and taboos make it very difficult for women to discuss the condition, one of the reasons for the depression mentioned above.

Endometriosis is a disorder in which bits of tissue from the inner lining of the uterus (the endometrium) grow inside a woman's body, outside of the uterus. The uterus is a hollow organ within a woman's abdomen where a fertilized egg implants and where a developing baby is nourished and grows.

These misplaced bits of endometrial tissue can cause pain and irregular bleeding, and can affect a woman's ability to become pregnant.

The actual cause of Endometriosis is unknown, there are many theories but none fully explain why the condition occurs.

Endometriosis is estimated to cost industry and commerce £3 billion a year from days lost alone, and it currently takes on average 11 years to diagnose from the onset of symptoms. I know from previous research funded by Endometriosis UK that just 20% of the population were aware of the condition

Endometriosis UK requires donations to fund help-lines, research, and support for sufferers, amongst other things.
