In the Fiji Islands, Think Pacific Foundation provides the funding, planning and logistical support to enable volunteer teams to achieve specific development goals in the poorest areas of Fiji as the core element of a well structured, challenging and adventurous expedition. Think Pacific fund short term, medium term and long term government directives which are designed and monitored by local communities and the Fijian Ministry to provide long term social, economic and environmental benefits to local communities.

I am volunteering with Think Pacific for two months in the Fijian islands in May next year. This is a huge personal challenge for me to go to a 'back to basics' way of living, anyone who knows me can tell you how much I love my home comforts! I am hoping that this experience will open my eyes a bit to just how privileged I am, and it is an incredibly worthwhile cause. 

To support my fundraising I will be taking part in the Great Fun Run in Gateshead on October 20th.
