If I was to be honest, when I applied to run the Brighton Marathon I didn't think I would be accepted and was shocked when they sent me the confirmation. Now as the day is fast approaching of what seemed a good idea at the time, appears quite daunting. Can't wait for Monday,16 April when it will all be over and I can hang up my running shoes.
The reason why I have picked pancreatic cancer as my chosen charity is that it is very close to my heart. It has effected both mine and Kevins family. My mum and grandmother and Kevins dad have all died from this disease. It is such a terrible cancer of which they know very little about and has a very low survial rate that all money donated, however small, will go towards much needed and continued research into pancreatic cancer.
The marathon also falls on the 2nd anniversary of the death of my mum, which makes it even more poigant form me to cross the finishing line.
