Welcome to Julia Hancock's Just Giving page, and thank you for visiting. This appeal is to help Julia fund cancer treatments and therapies outside of the NHS, with the help of the charity Yes to Life.

Our dear friend Julia’s beautiful and positive energy is devoted to natural health and empowering others. She has practiced acupuncture since 2001 and runs conscious-dance and Tantra self-development workshops. Since 2006 she has been a treasured member of the Woman Within community here in Brighton, to which she was introduced by her beloved friend Julia Kantele who sadly left us after her own battle with breast cancer. Julia has brought her wisdom, energy and inspiration to many, running free community events and practicing free of charge to those unable to afford to pay.

Now Julia needs us to give back to her. On 2^nd October 2014 Julia was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was initially very shocked and fearful. After some weeks of research and reflection Julia has decided that she currently wants to do all she can to heal the cancer with complementary and natural medicine. She has negotiated some time until January 2015 from the proposed surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormonal treatment. 

Julia will be in Scotland from the 17th of November for two weeks of Intensive Mistletoe Therapy (see link at end)  with the Camphill Wellbeing Trust, Aberdeen. This natural anti-cancer treatment is widely used in Germany and some NHS areas and offers a powerful boost to the immune system and the patient’s morale. It has shown effective results in reducing tumours and promoting cancer remission. The cost of the residential treatment is £3,000. The trust will generously take a donation instead of the full cost, but Julia very much wants to contribute. She will probably require ongoing treatment at £200 per month for one year, and potentially up to five years. Julia does not yet know whether this will be partly available on the NHS nor how her current health and treatment will affect her ability to work (she is self-employed).

Julia is trying to meet the cost of her treatment, and the costs of her travel to Scotland for herself and a rota of three friends who will need to look after her while she undergoes it. In addition there are the costs of superfoods, hypnotherapy and nutritional supplements for healing cancer. Though the costs are mounting up, Julia is 100% clear that this is the right path for her and is deeply committed to healing her body naturally and minimising any need for harsh or invasive treatments.

She, and her friends who stand behind her, would so deeply appreciate any financial contribution, large or small, which you can make towards her healing journey at this time – please help if you can.

Any donations will get direct to Julia via the brilliant UK charity Yes To Life which supports an integrative approach to cancer care and helps find and fund complementary treatments for people outside of the NHS. Yes To Life receives funding via GiftAid on donations if you pay tax, at no cost to you. Any surplus to funds directly for Julia’s treatment will be used to help other people in need of similar support.
