Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Parkinson's Disease Society's 40th Anniversary

(please take a look at photo's attached)

2009 is the 40th Anniversary of the Parkinson's Disease Society.

We are celebrating the achievements made since 1969 and looking towards the future with a lot of hope.

40 years of research achievements

40 years ago, very little was known about Parkinson's. A huge amount has been achieved since then, thanks to research funded by the Parkinson's Disease Society.

We know more than ever before about Parkinson's. We are closer than we have ever been to a cure. We have helped transform the diagnosis, monitoring and management of Parkinson's. People can now manage their symptoms much better thanks to a range of medications and therapies.
40 years of supporting people affected by Parkinson's

Our pioneering approach with Parkinson's Disease Nurse Specialists (PDNSs) has benefited thousands of people with Parkinson's.

Support and information is available for people with Parkinson's, their friends, families and carers via the PDS help Line 0808 800 0303, Branch and Support Groups, Information and Support Workers and many other sources.

The time is now ...

to make more discoveries into the causes of Parkinson's to make more specialist nurses available to more people to make high-quality services available for everyone with Parkinson's
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So please dig deep and donate now.

In addition, for people with Parkinson's and their carer's, who currently live within the London Borough of Havering, I am hosting a Partylite candle and accessory party at Yew Tree Resource Centre,  20 Yew Tree Gardens, Romford, Essex. RM7 9AA on Friday 11th December 2009, from 10am to 2pm.  Please see pictures attached for this months special offers.  There are many ideas for Christmas gifts. I look forward to seeing you all there. Our PD specialist nurse, Kirsten Turner, will be in attendance as well as lots of information, should you need it.

The 15% of total sales that I would normaly receive for being Hostess, will be converted into cash and will be donated via cheque, to the PDS Havering and District Branch.  (15% Hostess Benefit with £165 total sales or more from the party plus 1 or more people to book a party for themselves from my party, to be held within 30 days of 11th December 2009. Otherwise only 10% of total sales will be donated to PDS H & D Branch if total sales do not reach £165 or if no one books a party for themselves within 30 days - a condition  implemented by Partylite UK Ltd).

If you are not a Parkinson's sufferer or carer and would like to order items from the Partylite catalogue, inluding the December Guest special offers, please contact me directly my either email, telephone or in person. The percentage of sales donated to Parkinson's Disease Society Havering and District Branch, remains the same. I look forward to hearing from you all.

So Get Ordering Now for deliveries to be made in time for Christmas. Closing dated for Partylite orders is Saturday 12th December 2009.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE
