We at CARE International, fight poverty to help the world’s most vulnerable people.

Story

In 2012 I travelled with CARE in my position as a press photographer to document some specific projects CARE were running in the area of Goma, North Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The work and affect it has on the local population moved me greatly.

This blog entry was my diary of my time in The DRC: http://www.julieedwardsphotography.co.uk/blog/2015/2/The-Democratic-Republic-of-Congo-with-CARE-International-UK

This year I am talking part in 2 events: 1 sunrise climb of Mt. Snowdon in Wales (done!) and a 50kM walk (yes, thats longer than a marathon) on the Jurassic coast in a effort to raise money and awareness for this organisation.

Additionally - in the past I have talked to camera clubs regarding my trip to The DRC, about the photographs and the difficulty faced by a photographer. A donation by any club or body would secure a talk if interested.
