Story

Hello,

My name is Callie, (left of photo and my best friend Scarlett on the right) I am six years old and I am taking part in the London Walk to Cure Diabetes. Myself and my team members will be walking 5k around Regents Park on Saturday 10th September 2011. We are raising money for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundtion).

Two weeks after my 4th birthday I became very poorly, mummy took me to the doctors and he tested my urine, he then told mummy to take me straight to the hospital where after having a blood test I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.

I spent four days in hospital where I learnt to inject myself, I now have to inject 4 times a day (sometimes more), plus I have to use a finger pricker to check my blood sugar levels sometimes up to 7 times a day.

Mummy and Daddy tell me I'm their little hero because of all the challenges I face every day.

I would like a cure to be found, so that one day I won't have to inject myself, that is why I'm asking you kindly to dig deep into your pockets and sponsor me, to raise lots of money for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).

Lots of Hugs and Kisses

Callie
