Story

a Marathon and  Half

Edinburgh Marathon and Great North Run 2018

In September 20014 my Dad was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.  I had just recently started to run and had just that year completed the couch 2 5k training plan.  I found that my running helped me deal with what was happening.

September 2015 I completed my first Great North Run and Dad was looking forward to coming to South Shields to see me finish but he was too ill in hospital, sadly we lost him in November 2015, a year later I joined Darlington Harriers and with their help and support I completed my second Great North Run in 2017 in memory of this great cause

Dad was a keen cyclist and also encouraged me in my running, I know he's with me pushing me up every hill and along every long run.

I have now decided to take on an extra challenge and enter my first full marathon, so I will be running Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday 27th May and also The Great North Run on 9th September.

This is why I'm raising money to support The Brain Tumour Charity - to help others and find a cure for this awful disease and maybe help someone else's wonderful Dad.
