Grunty Fen half marathon · 12 September 2010

We want to ensure that every patient at Addenbrooke's and the Rosie hospitals experiences the highest quality of care available. We raise funds for cutting edge technology, additional specialist staff and extra comforts for patients, over and above what is possible with NHS funding alone.

Story

On Sunday 12th September, I will be nervously bandaging up my blisters, lacing up my trainers, and getting ready for my biggest EVER run - the half marathon in Grunty Fen...

As some of you will know, I struggled a few months back to run a lap of the science park which is about a mile. But my motivation is a brave couple and one very special little boy who has been poorly recently. They have had a really tough few months and I have felt pretty helpless, but we are all so relieved that they have come through the worry and are now being able to be a family at home together.  So I want to show them how much I care for them (you know who you are!) and they have given me the drive to raise money for this very worthy cause, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

I am running these 13 miles for you - my very dear friends, all the doctors, nurses and consultants who looked after our little legend...

So please, even if it just a £1 as I know there are lots of worthy charities, please donate to this charity close to our hearts...

Thanks,

Julie x
