Story
As most of you know my big sister Freesia passed away on the 5th June 2019, after living and coping tremendously with stage four brain cancer. This hospice was not only a place where Freesia worked as a doctor helping others, but also where she was cared for at the end of her life. We were so lucky to be able to be with her and looked after too. All members of the team became extended family.
So.....I was planning on skydiving for the hospice to say thank you and to raise some necessary and well deserved funds on the first anniversary of Freesia's death, but COVID-19! That's not deterred me from doing it though, it's just been postponed for the year and is now officially the Hospice's skydiving day, hurrah. So if anyone wants to join me, haha?
If that's not incentive enough to donate a pound or two (as much as you can afford please) I've created a small list of reasons why I think you should donate.......
1.) As you all know, I'm going to be super awkward with the person I'm strapped to and will probably say the most ridiculous things to them.
2.) I have massive cheeks, so think of the photos/image of them flapping on the descent
3.) The Hospice only receives 25% of its income from government funding and let's face it COVID has really impacted fundraising efforts, so help is needed now more than ever!!
4.) The minimum sponsorship is £395, so we need to raise as much as possible to make this challenge worth it for the hospice. (I'm also going to try and save as much as possible to donate, so It's not just you guys)
5.) Freesia gave Steve and me a scratch of bucket list poster and skydive is on it, so you're helping me do as I'm told by my big sister!
6.) If you don't like me, you'll get to see me jump out of a plane!
7.) You'd probably spend your donation on a well earned pint/takeaway coffee, but that wouldn't provide you with the joy you'll get from keeping some angelic humans taking care of dying others.
Thank you so much for your generosity,
Lots of Love
