RIDE FOR SIGHT 2016 · 22 October 2015

Seeing is Believing is a global initiative to help eliminate avoidable blindness. We help bring affordable eye-care to some of the poorest communities in the world. We’re a collaboration between Standard Chartered Bank and the International Agency for Prevention of Blindness (IAPB).

Story

StanChart SG Recreation Club this year presents the Ride for Sight (RFS) 2015 enabling cyclists from SCB globally cover 300km over 2 days in Phuket, Thailand.

Pezhman (Singapore) and Junaidi (Brunei) from International Banking Singapore (Priority Banking) will attempt to cycle through rubber plantations, around pineapple fields and past traditional Thai villages in small coastal towns on the Andaman Coast in the south of Thailand with other colleagues from all corners of the world.

This is to support the visually impaired community through our Seeing is Believing initiative.

There are an estimated 39 million people already blind across the world and a further 246 million people with low vision. The vast majority of these people could be helped if given affordable access to eye-care. And RFS is one of the largest employee driven initiative in raising funds in the Seeing is Believing initiative.
