Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Myself (Christian), 9, my brothers, Adam, 8 and Owen, 8 and my friends, Harry, 9 and Charlie, 7, have visited Dudley zoo too many times for us to even remember! Its a wonderful place to visit, right on our doorstep. We visit with family and friends and have so much fun. Harry is a huge animal lover, pretty much having a zoo in his own home!!

I was pleasantly surprised when they got a Binturong, as they smell of popcorn, I love that fact! Owen absolutely loves the Emporer Tamarin with their crazy moutaches and Adam loves Lemur walk through. Harry loves watching the tiger come up to the glass window, you can see right into his eyes and the detail on his fur, its amazing although slightly scary too, I always wonder if the glass is definitely strong enough?! Charlie loves the Jaguar. We have also watched baby Sprout, the Orangutan grow up!

One of our general faves is Lorikeet Lookout, feeding them nectar is just amazing, when they sit on your head and pick bits of of your hair (always wonder quite what they are picking?!).

Ticket admissions pay for the animals food and upkeep -

Did you know?

  • the upkeep and care of one lemur costs £1 a day and an ape is £5 per day
  • to care for the giraffes for one day costs £15
  • the upkeep of the sloth for one week costs £20
  • to care for the lions for one week costs £100
  • to care for the sea lions for one week costs £250
  • to feed and care for our penguins for one month costs £1,200
So we thought these animals definitely need our help!! We go on lots of walks but walking to Dudley Zoo will be a major task for all of us!

So please sponsor us and think of all the animals (and also our legs dropping off on our walk!)
