Story
Sadly in January this year my beautiful, vibrant niece Anya committed suicide, devastating our family.
Anya was only 18 years old.
Suicide is terrifyingly common amongst young people, with a 50% increase being seen during the pandemic among teenage girls in the USA. The Jed Foundation works to educate young people, giving them resilience and life skills and encouraging help-seeking behaviours. It is also working to put systems in place in schools/colleges/universities so that struggling students will be recognised and supported.
I am running a 10km race (measures 11.5km!) on the 20th March to raise money for the Jed Foundation so that hopefully other families are spared the heartache and tragedy of losing someone so young, far too soon.
I am not a runner so this will be a real challenge for me so please, please donate in Anya's memory.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. You can follow my training for the race below.
