Kingswood Golf and Country Club Captains' Charity 2021 · 1 January 2021

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Parkinson's disease is a chronic progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects over 145000 people in the UK alone.   Most people with Parkinson's start to develop the symptoms, including shaking, stiffness, slow movement and falls, over the age of 50, although about 5% first experience symptoms when they are under 40.  These symptoms can be treated, but over time the drugs start to produce debilitating side effects and so become less effective after a numbers of year. There are no drugs that can slow the progression of Parkinson's disease, and there is no cure.

We are raising money to help towards finding drugs that will slow or stop the progression of the disease
