Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under 35 in the UK. PAPYRUS is the national charity for the prevention of young suicide and believes that many young suicides are preventable. They operate HOPELINEUK, a confidential call, text, and email helpline for young people with thoughts of suicide or those concerned about a young person who may have thoughts of suicide. Every £5 raised can help pay for a potentially life-saving contact to HOPELINEUK from a young person wanting to stay safe from their thoughts of suicide.
It is so important that young people talk about there mental health and well being, in a safe environment where they are supported so suicides can be prevented
Thank you.
This year Kathy and Becky again doing the Pier to Pier swim between Bournmouth and Boscombe Piers - 1.4 miles of tidal open water swim. We have selected PAPYRUS because in January this year we were introduced to a great team of ladies who following the tragic loss of one of the members teen age sons formed the Mother Ruckers a Touch Rugby team who trained to participate in a Rugby 8 tournament to raise money for PAPRYUS following the sad loss of one of the member sons. Having never played rugby we gathered through out the cold and dark months to train, and get fit and have fun! We laughed and we laughed and we got shouted at it was so worth it!
