Story

We want to raise money for the Coronavirus Action Fund and thought about how we could do this. Receiving one of our songs as a gift is a great approach to contribute in a way that allows us to give something very personal and heartfelt back to donors.

We both work at St George's University and in our free time we write and perform songs. Kathleen is a singer and is performing on the track. Kai was inspired to write the song following a personal development course he attended which dealt among other things with open-hearted giving and receiving. In our society giving and receiving is often burdened by hidden agendas and guilt. Performed open-hearted both activities can create enormous joy. To illustrate this Kai has used the image of rain (giving) on dry earth (receiving) in his lyrics. Following the course, Kathleen recorded the song named ‘Giving and Receiving’ in a studio in Germany.

How does it work? Just donate the amount you would like and in our thank you message you will get a link to our song :-) .

As the UK's specialist health university, St George's is in a unique position to carry out essential research into coronavirus. Research projects are underway to understand the science of Covid-19, informing the development of new diagnostics, new treatments, and a vaccine. Our experts are also influencing public health policy and providing evidence-based information and advice to front-line healthcare practitioners. While this work is progressing, we need further support to accelerate and broaden our research, with the ultimate aim to save lives.
