Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In honour of my fathers memory, who sadly passed away following an intense battle with pneumonia almost 5 years ago, I will be fundraising for the Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospital. My father spent almost 3 months in the Adult's Intensive Care Unit (AICU) from Jan-Apr 2018, where his fighting spirit, courage & the amazing 24 hour care he received at the hospital during a most tragic time for my family and I, inspired me to raise money in his name for the hospital's AICU unit, as it nears 5 years since his passing.
My father spent over 100 days battling in hospital; as a mark of appreciation to the RBH for the care they provided to him, over a period of 100 days, I will be doing 15,000 pushups, 15,000 ab crunches & 15,000 squats & lunges in total, averaging 450 repetitions each day. I will be posting daily progress, information on the cause and more on my social media page on Instagram @ rb_100daychallengevdk.
All the money raised will be directed to the AICU & help towards funding vital medical equipment that will help the most critical of patients, those suffering from severe heart and lung trauma, and helping countless families find comfort that their loved ones are in the best possible hands at the Royal Brompton Hospital. The RBH is the largest specialist heart and lung centre in the UK and among the largest in Europe.
