I'm cycling from London to Brighton to raise money for the Brittish Heart Foundation. My husband is the cyclist in the family, but I wanted to help raise money for the Brittish Heart Foundation because their work helps save so many lives.

The advances made through their research meant that there was some light at the end of the tunnel when I first found out that my son, Marthinus, would be born with complex congenital heart defects. Since having Marthinus he has had 4 operations and he will have more in the future. Currently he is doing very well but he will need more surgery in the future as his condition is complex.

I marvel every day at Marthinus' bravery and also the genius that has made it possible for us to have him. My husband and I hope to raise lost of money so more valuable advances can be made to ensure Marthinus and other children with complex congenital heart defects can live happy and full lives for as long as possible.

So please dig deep and donate now.
