London Marathon 2018 · 22 April 2018 ·

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the 2018 London Marathon on Sunday 22nd April for Manorlands Hospice in memory of our family friend Margaret Banks. I met Margaret when I was a child, through our mutual involvement in the youth movement The Woodcraft Folk. Margaret helped out regularly at Woodcraft camps, craft fairs and other events and our friendship continued into my adulthood. Margaret was a fun, feisty, politically active, no nonsense, straight talking Yorkshire Women. Margaret passed away at Manorlands in 2007 aged 58, after a battle with breast cancer. I'm sure I'll sense her indomitable spirit in the tough bits in training and on the day if I ever...even dare consider giving up..."Get them bloody knees up". Thank you for reading my story and for considering to help. Manorlands continue to provide incredible specialist palliative care and complementary therapy services to people with life-limiting conditions in the Craven, Airedale, Wharfedale and Bradford area.
