Hi All,
A month or so ago, I signed up for the Kemp Hospice Midnight Walk. 5 miles around the Wyre forest, setting off at....midnight!
My fund raising effort prior to the event was pretty lame, I'll be honest.
Last night (Saturday), 4 of us (Mum, my friend Jo, my Mums friend Pauline & I) completed the walk! After a slow start battling through the 500+ participants, dodging the mud, avoiding ditches & generally getting over the 'why did we do this?', we found our stride and completed in the top 50 or so, within 1 hour 30 minutes.
At 1.30am ish, on the finish line, we were welcomed back with huge cheers of support from fellow walkers & Kemp volunteers, bucks fizz & bacon sandwiches!!
Kemp Hospice provides a major support system for the local community (Wyre Forest & Tenbury area) and their primary goal is to provide palliative care and support, adding to the quality of life to their patients and carers.
From what I experienced last night, (if that is anything to go by), Kemp Hospice certainly do provide support to everyone, treat each person as an individual and have their best interests at heart. The event was extremely well organised and it was clear that Kemp wanted it to be a success in order to receive the donations.
If you have any spare pennies to give, no matter how much or little, I would be much appreciative, and I know Kemp will too.
Thankyou for your support.
