In a moment of sheer and utter madness I signed up for the Birmingham Half Marathon also known now as the Great Birmingham Run, though I fail to see anything great about it!!

You all know me, and know that I am no runner, or even a lover of keeping fit!! So for every blister, and lost toe nail that I am about to experience all I ask of you my lovely lovely friends is that you have a laugh at my attempt, but also dig deep in a year of recession to support the amazing Paediatric Intensive Care Unit where I work.  We care for children from 0 to 18 years of age with all manner of life threatening illnesses and conditions.  The bravery I see there daily is inspiring.
