I will be doing a 10k 'Twilight Walk' on the 6th July to raise money for Halton Haven Hospice in Runcorn.  A very dear friend, Helen Pitcher, lost her long battle with Mesothelioma (a rare form of lung cancer) on the 11th June.  Helen is the mum of two wonderful young women - Vicky and Jane and I'm proud to be doing this walk with them in a few weeks. 

Helen was a truly wonderful lady.  When I moved to the North West 8 years ago Helen and her husband Barry made me feel like one of their family. They were so kind.  It's something I'll never forget. 

In her final weeks, Helen was cared for at the Haven, care which surpassed what her family could have hoped for.  Each and every person working at the hospice go out of their way to meet the individual needs of each patient and their families and from what Vicky and Jane have told me they will always be in gratitude to the wonderful staff.
