Apologies to all, my original message stated that the school building was only going to cost £1500, unfortunately there was a mistake and it should have stated £15000... quite a difference I know, but unfortunately mistakes happen, the last naught was missing (the exact amount is £15050). There I was thinking the full amount was almost raised and now I feel as though someone has kicked me in the stomach. I still want these children to benefit from the extra building so I will keep trying to raise the money!
El Shaddai is a Christian organisation rescuing the street orphans in India. There are homes, schools and day care centres reaching out to those in need. They Love, Care and Share. El Shaddai wants to "bring childhoods to children who have never had it." The school needs an extra building to ensure that it gets government accreditation. This will mean the end to 3hr coach trips for the older children who are taking exams. It will mean that the school can charge for others to take their exams at the school and therefore be somewhat self generating.
I visited El Shaddai in Goa this September, 2009. The children are adorable. The home is home for them and is well run. The school is fantastic as it is and the kids just love to learn, help me make it even better, so that they can be registered. We need to raise £15,000 for this extra school building. In relative terms its not much, so please donate what you can. To learn more about the organisation go to www.childrescue.net.
Im sponsoring a child called Suraj, he is 4yrs old, and he is a sweet heart. Why not sponsor a child yourself?
